If you could live in any time era or in any myth....what would it be and why?
All good things.Era-wise it would be Montmarte, France in the 1890s. My favorite period for art, music, and culture. Chasing the green fairy and wasting away in opium dens has a certain appeal.
Myth wise, I would love to experience the Arthurian period, although not for the reasons that some might list. I have no interest in the golden age of heroes, I would rather pay a visit to the Fisher King. I suppose being a part of the Celtic mythos would be fun as well, or being part of the older Germanic fairy tales. Running in the old Forests of England from Herne, or the black forests of Germany with various witches and nasty figures.
Thrilling.
For some reason I like what the fisher king represents. I don't know why. I guess because there's something surreal about barren lands; the complete silence that washes through, the absence of life. I could just imagine what it would be like to enter a land so devoid of anything. I always picture it with a heavy mist hanging low to the ground.I'm glad you like them. It's a bit surreal to meet someone who has any idea who Herne is/was, let alone the Fisher King.
haha, you sent me a message and I thought you were a robot (mainly because of the attractive lady in the dp) so I replied with Led Zeppelin lyricsI would want to live on a Pacific Island - most preferably in Hawai'i though I'm not picky - sometime before the 1700s.
And mouthwash. Don't forget mouthwash.I would have loved to live in the medieval times. The only thing that I would add to the era is more frequent baths. As for the myth, I would have loved to be Aphrodite.
Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table are my all time favorite quasi-historical characters. I'm not sure about living in those days, however. For example, if one gets sick (i.e., the 'humours' become unbalanced), out come the leeches (not exactly my favorite life-form ). Of course, the legends gloss over such sordid details. The knights weren't vulnerable to disease. Lancelot had a severe nervous breakdown, but that probably would have been classified as demonic possession rather than illness. If I could, I would want to live in the time of King Arthur.....
I think you should.I think at this point in my life I would want a free pass to visit more than a handful. Each time seems to have one thing or another that I truly feel connected too and I would want to experience it first hand. There is just no "one time" for me, too hard of a question to honestly answer. Can I get an around the times pass?
