It looks that the new fairytale fad is indeed kicking off. I noticed an ad for Snow White & the Huntsman movie on Facebook today, and, based on the picture on its Facebook page, it looks like the screenwriters are taking some liberties. ;-)
According to Wikipedia, Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen, and Hugh Jackman all three declined to play the Woodsman. I guess that tends to happen when you have an actress known for her role as a vampire's teen-lover playing Snow White. Chris Hemsworth, player of the eponymous character from Thor* is slated for the Woodsman.
