Gaia, is probably the greatest villaness of all time. And completely ignored. She has great reasons for all the terrible things she does, it's a really beautiful story of loss and grief. First her husband locks her children, the Storm Gods, in Tartarus, in revenge she persuades Cronus to kill his father by creating the weapon for him and tricking Uranus into a trap. Then when Cronus betrays her and locks the Storm Gods up again, she helps her daughter Rheia rescue Zeus (in one version of the tale, Zeus is raised by Gaia, I like to think Zeus grew up in Gaia's court on Mount Ida, with many of her companions helping in his tutelage) she then is betrayed by Zeus who locks up her children the Titans, though he frees the Storm Gods, and so she persuades her other children, the Giants, to kick some Olympian ass. All in all, Gaia is responsible for the 3 biggest shakeups to have hit Olympus. She can be seen as malicious but with good cause. That makes the best kind of villain in my eyes.
