Using popular music to teach history?

Have you guys heard about the YouTube account made by some history teachers from Hawaii? They use popular music and rewrite the lyrics to narrate historical events. What do you guys think? They're very unconventional but I find them really amusing. My favorite one is the Black Death to the tune of Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani. Check it out here and let me know what you guys think

That was interesting to say the least and I think it is a great way to get kids interested in history. When teachers think outside the box, it gets kids to think that way too.

Hey I say any way you can get kids to listen to history or other educational things is good. I think these teachers are on a good path.

I showed this to my former North American studies teacher and she loved it!! I wish we had these around while I was still studying. It have would made everything so much more fun!!
