Germanic mythology

German tribes fought against the Roman Empire, and eventually they turned many of its provinces into the countries of medieval Europe. Not very much is known about them except for what the Romans wrote, and the Romans seemed to think they were hairy savages, barely even humans.

What do we know of their mythology? It must have been pretty similar to that of the Norse peoples.

Yes. The myths of the Norsemen are part of the larger family of Germanic myths.
However, the stories as they existed among the Germans of the 5th Century, during Romes decline, were probably different from the time
they were written down in Iceland in the 13th Century.
One of the Grimm brothers wrote a massive tome called Teutonic Mythology, which probably covers much concerning these shadowey myths.

If you are interested in Norse mythology, then help VuduPins Productions make a film based off of the Norse myths of Baldur's death. The film is called "Baldur's Dreams" and is centered around Odin, Frigg, Baldur, and Loki. Before we can begin filming, we need to raise funds. Please help us and go to this site and donate money. Spread the word and help this film get made. Every penny counts. Thanks!
