Bull roarers

    I just made somebull-roarers from a pattern from Australia. Anyone know anything about how they were used?

    I'm not sure I understand the question. You want to know how this pattern was used? Or you want to know how the bull raorers were used? Or did I misinterpret your question entirely? :confused:

    Ah - I meant what are/were bull roarers in general used for?

    Well, it seems that bullroarers were used mainly for communicating over great distances, though it is an ancient ritualistic musical instrument.

    nice link. inthe picture on the page is something called a 'small boys whizzer'. this makes me giggle, but also would like to make one. can't really get the idea from the picture but maybe I'll find out some other how. cheers, FD
